Halah Rasheed ALi shares her surreal experience during the visit of Badshahi Mosque, Lahore

I have been in Lahore city for the last three years. Everything in this beautiful city attracts you to dive in the beats of its heart, starting from its people, to food, to its places which combine both history and modernistic. For me, each place in the city of Lahore is special. The beautiful green parks, the old bazaars, the historical mosques, the old city of Lahore. Although I have been to many cities in Pakistan and outside and I saw many mosques, for me, Badshahi Mosque is my favorite one. The imperial architecture, the structure, the magnificence of the courtyard, and the history of the mosque are very unique and special. I can’t describe how much I adore visiting this mosque. The Middle Eastern designs on the roof of the mosque remind me of the old mosques of my beautiful country Yemen. When visiting the mosque, one certainly can feel the peace, beauty and greatness. I have visited there many times, but my favorite is the time I visit with my friends. And I never forget to end my day visiting the food street and watch the mosque from the fort’s high-top restaurants at night. The golden view of the mosque can’t be forgotten.
