Scholarship for Bachelor Studies on the Basis of F.A. / F.Sc. / others (BISE Examination)

For All Schools and Institutes expect SEN, SHS, SST, SSc and SAP

Scholarship for BS Studies on the Basis of A-Levels

A-level students will receive merit scholarships on basis of their equivalent percentage. Ranges will be same as defined for F.A. / F.Sc. etc. students.

For DPT/LLB/B arch

Merit Scholarship on the Basis of American High School Diploma

A-Level students will receive merit scholarship on basis of thier equivalent percentage. Range will be sam as defined for FA/FSC/other students.

This reflects the significance that UMT attaches to its alumni, while upholding and promoting the core values of the University. Alumni will only pay Rs. 5000 as admission fee and Rs. 5000 as library fee at the time of admission.

Alumni Policy for Admission in Master / MS / MPhil programs on the basis of

2-year degree

Alumni of two-years degree programs will get 50% waiver in tuition fee if they have a CGPA of 3.00 or more

4 years degree

Alumni of BS programs (4 years) will get waiver in tuition fee as per following criteria

Alumni Policy for Admission in PhD Programs

The kin of alumni and existing participants (brother, sister, husband, wife, father, mother, son and daughter) are allowed tuition fee waiver of 20% for all kin.

The kin of alumni and existing participants (brother, sister, husband, wife, father, mother, son and daughter) are allowed tuition fee waiver of 20% for all kin.

• 50% waiver in admission fee
• 10% additional discount in tuition fee

35% scholarship is offering to female students of BBA and MBA to promote learning and leadership opportunities for women in the field of business.

20% each scholarship will be offered to two students taking admissions in BS Electrical Engineering or Bs Industrial Engineering if they are from to the same educational institute (School or College).

20% scholarship each will be offered to two MS candidates if they are from same educational institute (School/College/University)or working in the same organization. School for MS Scholarships are HSM, SSC, SGS, SSS&H and SEN.

To develop and support IT industry of Pakistan, UMT is offering 20% scholarship each to two candidates if they are from same educational institute (School/College/University) or working in a same industry.

30% waiver in tuition fee of each student for organizations nominating minimum three candidates. The application will be processed through Office of Corporate Linkages and Placements and Head HR of the nominating organization.

These scholarships have been established to pay tribute to a former Chief Justice of Pakistan. They are granted to bright Pakistani nationals belonging to the minority communities. 80% waiver in tuition fee for three students in a year, belonging to minorities with minimum 60% marks or equivalent in intermediate or graduation.

The Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad PhD fellowship will be offered to outstanding, young, full time students for completion of PhD studies in a period of 3 to 4 years in specific areas of specialization. The objective is to support education and grooming of outstanding young scholars, who would excel in high-quality research and its publication in the most reputed journals of the subject.

• Fully funded program
• Monthly stipend of Rs. 30,000/- for three years

PhD Fellowship

1. The recipients of PhD fellowship will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 30,000/- up to a period of three years.
2. No tuition fee will be charged from the recipients of the fellowship.
3. The PhD Scholars shall complete the required PhD course work in the first year.
4. The PhD Scholars shall teach two courses per semester during the second and third year. Alternatively, he / she may be required to work as “Research Associate”.
5. Continuation of the fellowship shall be subject to satisfactory performance.
6. The scholars will be encouraged to complete the degree in three years.

Eligibility Criteria

Required Qualification: MS / M Phil (18 years of education) with good marks / grades / CGPA throughout the academic career Preference would be given to the candidates who have published their research articles in HEC recognized journals as a first or second author

Age: Less than or equal to 27 years on 15th of October of the year of admission

Performance in International

• GAT Subject/GRE Subject (if available) with HEC’s minimum passing criteria
• IELTS: 7 or better

Type of study
Full-time student with solid plans to complete the PhD degree in three to four years

Submission of a comprehensive Research Proposal
The candidates for the Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad PhD Fellowship shall be required to submit a comprehensive research proposal for their PhD research plans.

Admission Criteria

Performance in Certificates & Degrees

• Matric / O-level (minimum marks: 80%)
• F.A. / F.Sc. / A-level (minimum marks: 70%)
• 4- or 5-year BS (minimum CGPA: 3.25)
• 2-year MS or M Phil with thesis research (minimum CGPA :3.5)

Assessment by Subject-based Interview

• Interview by selected members of the Board of Studies with at least two relevant members from other universities
• Discussion on the research proposal submitted by the candidate

Assessment of General Intelligence and Attitude

• Through interview by a university-wide assessment committee

Determination of Merit for Admission

Performance in Certificates & Degrees
The performance shall be quantified by the Figure of Merit defined below. Figure of Merit (FoM) = 2x (%age in Matric ÷ 100) + 2x (%age in F.A. or F.Sc. ÷ 100) + 3 x (CGPA in BS ÷ 4.0) + 3 x (CGPA in MS / M Phil ÷ 4.0) The maximum possible value of FoM is 10.0.

Assessment by Subject-based Interview (ASI)
The special committee of the Board of Studies will assess the candidates in the subject of their PhD studies on a scale of zero to ten.

Assessment of General Intelligence and Attitude (AGIA)
The university-wide assessment committee will assess the general intelligence and attitude of the candidates on a scale of zero to ten.

Determination of the Comprehensive Merit
Figure of Comprehensive Merit (FoCM) will be used to determine the overall merit of the candidates. FoCM will be determined by the following formula:

FoCM = 5.5 x (FoM) + 3.0 x (ASI) + 1.5 x (AGIA)

The maximum value of FoCM can be 100.

Terms and Conditions for Continuation of Fellowship

1. A recipient of the PhD fellowship shall complete the required PhD course work in the first year of studies.
2. A recipient of the PhD fellowship shall be required to maintain a CGPA of 3.5 or more during his / her coursework.
3. A recipient of the PhD fellowship must pass the PhD Comprehensive Exam within a period of 1.5 years.
4. A recipient of the PhD fellowship shall not be eligible for extended leave during the regular semesters.

All certified special students and those with learning impairment will pay maximum of 50% fee as standard.

This need-based scholarship is given to needy and deserving students after scrutiny of evidence provided by the participant and a brief interview. The scholarship / fund is treated as Qarz-e-Hasna which participant has to return in three to five years installments after completion of degree.

Our financial aid policies are the same for all applicants, regardless of nationality or citizenship. All aid is based on financial need, and admissions decisions are made without regard to whether an applicant has applied for financial assistance.
