International Student Admission Process at UMT (OIC Scholarship)
Step 1: Admission Application
The admission process begins when an international student submits an application to the Office of Admissions (OIA) at UMT. The Office of Internationalization (OIN) refers prospective international applicants to OIA for further processing. For detailed admission procedures, eligibility criteria, and application guidelines, applicants are advised to visit the Office of Admissions (OIA) website at:

Step 2: Application Registration and Document Verification
The OIC Secretariat is requested to share the required student information with OIN including the student’s full name, active phone number, email address, and relevant academic documents. After receiving the application, the Admission Office registers the application and verifies the student’s international educational documents with OIN facilitation to ensure authenticity and compliance with UMT’s admission criteria.
Step 3: Admission Test (Online/Physical)
Office of Admissions (OIA) conducts admission tests/interviews, which are compulsory for certain degree programs, including BS (Engineering, Architecture, City & Regional Planning, and Law).
Students who have scored less than 60% in their prior qualifications are also required to appear for the admission test.
Admission tests/interviews are mandatory for all MS/MPhil degree programs.
For online tests and interviews, the Zoom link will be shared via the student’s registered email address.

Step 4: Admission Confirmation
Upon successful completion of the test and interview, the Office of Admissions, in coordination with the relevant academic department, confirms the student’s admission. The admission decision and results are officially communicated to the student through their registered email address.
Step 5: Review and Approval for Changes
In case a student requests any changes, including a program change or modification in scholarship discount, fresh approval must be obtained from the relevant ILM/OIN authorities before implementation.
Step 6: Fee Voucher Generation
After availing the 90% scholarship, Office of the Treasurer (OTR) issues the fee voucher, which reflects only the remaining 10% of the applicable International tuition fees can be seen on the given link below https://oin.umt.edu.pk/
The voucher must be paid on or before the specified due date
Step 7: Student ID Generation
Office of the Registrar (ORG) issues the student ID upon completion of the admission process. The student ID will be generated after the payment of the applicable tuition fees.
Step 8: Visa Process
The visa process will begin after completion of all the above-mentioned stages.
A Bonafide Letter will be issued by PRS/ORG:
Regular processing: Rs. 1,000 (2–3 working days)
Urgent processing: Rs. 1,500 (1 working day)
A Student Card will also be issued by PRS.
The Confirmed Admission Letter will be issued by the Office of Admissions (OIA).
Students are required to submit the necessary documents for the NOC application. The Office of Internationalization (OIN) will apply for the NOC to HEC, and the entire process typically takes 2 to 4 weeks.
